This Privacy Policy explains how Bosphorus Living (“we”, “us”), an independent home textiles studio based in Istanbul, Türkiye, handles personal information when you visit bosphorusliving.com, contact us or send a trade inquiry. We keep the information we collect to a minimum.
Information we collect
Information you give us: when you use our contact form, email us or message us on WhatsApp, we receive what you choose to share, such as your name, email address, phone number, Etsy order number and your message.
Information collected automatically: our website host collects basic, aggregated visit statistics (for example pages viewed, approximate country, browser and device type) to keep the site running and to understand how it is used. We do not use advertising cookies on this website.
Purchases on Etsy
Retail orders are placed and paid for on Etsy. Etsy processes your payment, shipping and account information under its own Privacy Policy. We receive only the order details Etsy shares with sellers, such as your name, shipping address and order contents, and use them only to make, ship and support your order.
How we use your information
To answer your questions and messages; to make, ship and support your orders; to prepare quotes and samples for trade and private label inquiries; and to improve our website and products. We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making.
Sharing
We share information only with the service providers we need to run our business, such as our website host, email and messaging providers, Etsy and shipping carriers, and only as far as needed for that purpose, or when the law requires it.
International transfers
We are based in Türkiye and our service providers may process data in other countries, including the United States and the European Union. Where required, we rely on the appropriate safeguards offered by those providers.
How long we keep it
We keep messages and order-related information only as long as needed to handle your request, support your order and meet legal, tax and accounting obligations, and then delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including the EU, the UK and US states such as California, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain uses, and to receive a copy of your data. We do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising. To make a request, email hello@bosphorusliving.com. You may also contact your local data protection authority.
Children
Our website is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy from time to time; the date at the top shows the latest version. For any privacy question, write to hello@bosphorusliving.com.
